Maya’s bike is broken, her brother’s always underfoot, and she wishes things would just fix themselves. Then she chases a stray dog into the misty Lake District and finds a hollow oak tree hiding a secret – a scruffy, green creature called a Wispkin who grants three wishes.
First wish: her bike’s fixed! But there’s a catch – it only works when she hums. Second wish: her brother stops bugging her. But now he won’t speak at all, and Maya’s heart sinks.
With only one wish left, Maya has to figure out what real magic looks like. Is it about getting what you want – or fixing what you’ve done?
